I am an LPC Intern registered with the State of Oregon.
I hold an MA in Psychology: Contemplative Psychotherapy from Naropa University, where I studied Buddhist psychology, group therapy, and mindfulness-based, transpersonal, and humanistic psychotherapy.
For those who wish to incorporate mindfulness practice into their work, I am trained and certified as a Mindfulness Instructor by Naropa University.
Community College Counselor
In July 2016 I began working as a part-time counselor at Portland Community College, where I provide personal, career, crisis, and academic counseling to PCC students.
As of June 2016, I maintain a private practice at Brilliancy Counseling in Portland, OR, where I work with adults, adolescents, couples, and groups. My work focuses on Mindful and Experiential Therapy Approaches, including the Hakomi method of mindfulness-centered somatic psychotherapy. I specialize in mindfulness, bipolar disorder, spiritual integration, and life transitions.
Background and Orientation
I also have a background in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed services, services for queer and trans* folks, and recovery approaches. My theoretical orientation embraces client-centered, mindfulness-based, Buddhist, transpersonal, and humanistic psychotherapy, positive psychology, critical psychology, social justice, and evidence-based practice.
If you become my client, we will work together to build a relationship and treatment plan that are good fit for you, in order to co-create a therapeutic approach that engages your strengths to meet your goals in therapy. By focusing on your intrinsic health, I hope to help you meet your wellness and life goals.
